Don't make the same mistake as I did


Every morning, I take the train to the office. After 4 years, this daily journey has become routine. I live only 10 minutes by bike from the train station.

I have a tendency to leave home at the last minute. This was also the case the other day. I cleaned up a bit, checked my e-mail and got an update on facebook while the news was running in the background.

10 minutes before the train's departure, I closed down and left the apartment. I was about 500 meters from the apartment, when it struck me that I had forgotten my laptop. This laptop is absolutely indispensable as I use it at my job all day long.

I turned around the bike and hurried back to the apartment. Frantically, I searched for the computer, charger and bag - these were scattered all over the apartment. Finally I found the items and got them in the bag. I flew out the door and ran to my bike. At this point I could easily have kept up with Alberto Contador.

Can you guess what happened?

Exactly! I missed the train. The doors closed long before I reached the platform.

Had I only prioritized differently and started the day with the most important thing: Pack my bag - and then followed by news, facebook and emails if time permitted......
