Today I will provide you with some sights in Provence - or more precisely on the Côte d'Azur. We are going to the Casino in Monaco, relaxing on a café in Tourettes-sur-Loup and visit a child friendly villa in Vence.

All in on red did not bring a fortune
Imagine this scenario:

You are ready.
The night is still young.
You have found your seat at the roulette table...

The dealer spins the roulette wheel. You go all in on “red”. The excitement runs through every fiber of your body. The heart rate rises – your palms are sweaty.
The roulette wheel is slowing down. The ball is dancing around the wheel. And then it happens…
After what felt like an eternity the ball finally falls into one of the pockets on the wheel.
“Black 13” the dealer announces.

The legendary Monte Carlo Casino was quite the experience. However, my first visit was not the financial adventure I had hoped for.
Monaco has a lot to offer and is definitely worth a visit – both with or without chips in your pocket. The Principality of Monaco has lots of attractions, arts and culture, historical sightseeing, exquisite dinners, sumptuous hotels, luxury shopping, non-stop nightlife and excitement in the legendary Monte Carlo

A true gem in i Tourettes-sur-Loup

Tourettes-sur-Loup is definitely worth a visit. The charming medieval village lies on a hillside between two deep canyons in the beautiful hinterland between Nice and Cannes.

The village exudes calm – here you are in no rush. The streets weave in and out of each other, and there is an interesting mix of small shops, narrow streets and charming buildings.

On a hot summer day in August we found a unique place in 8 Rue de la Bourgade which we did not want to leave again.  La Cave de Tourettes does not look like much from the outside.
As soon as you enter the cellar this changes, as you are met by a friendly staff, a charming décor and a fantastic view. The style is authentic and relaxed.

The experience is complete when you sit down at one of the much-coveted tables on the small balcony. Sit down with your back against the wall and enjoy the stunning view.

You can enjoy a glass of cooling white wine as we did, or pick a lunch menu made from good local ingredients. 

No Selfie-zones at Cap d’Antibes

On a beach in the South of France a bold decision to ban selfies has been made. The initiative should help decrease the selfie-mania where people go to a great extent to get the perfect shot of themselves in the newly acquired designer bikini.
No-selfie zones have been introduced on the beach “La Garoupe” near Antibes. “La Garoupe” is one of the most glamourous and pristine beaches in France.  "We want people to be able to enjoy our exclusive beach in the moment, not spending the majority of their time bragging to their friends and family back home," says a spokesperson for the beach.
At Provacances we give the thumbs up to this initiative. You should always remember to have focus on each other and to share the many experiences a holiday will bring ;-)
New child friendly villa with pool in Vence
Ref. 06.329:
We have a nice villa our website. The villa for 8 persons is located in walking-distance to the old centre of Vence. It is perfect for families with children with swings, sandpit and trampoline.
The owner is a busy man. He is preparing the villa for the coming season. The house has been painted inside and outside, new furniture has been put in and the garden has been trimmed. When everything is ready at the beginning of March, my colleague Hans will drop by to take new photos for our website.

We offer 10% on the weeks starting on 15/08 and 22/08.
