At the market you will find excellent products – fresh fish, fruit, cheese and lovely wine. The town is an old seaport, and today it is a fishing port as well as a marina. Le Barcarès is an authentic French village, but more and more tourists find their way to this exciting corner of France. The village and its surroundings are very adapted to children.
Guests interested in wine can visit the local vineyards in Languedoc-Roussillon – one of the world’s largest wine districts. Within half an hour’s drive you have the possibility of beautiful trekking in the mountains and exploration of Cathar castles and caves. All in all, this charming corner of France is strongly influenced by its Catalan heritage.
