Rural apartment Ambra

Borgo Rapale is a Tuscan farmhouse complex that was completed in 2004. It is situated on a hilltop and borders a small, medieval castle village. Situated between Siena (approx. 25km) and Arezzo, it boasts stunning views of the Chianti hills and the Ambra Valley. At an altitude of 500 m, cool breezes keep the farmhouse comfortable under the Tuscan sun. Borgo Rapale’s archi-tecture typifies the Tuscan farmhouse style. The farmhouse is immediately adjacent to the proprietor’s villa, which has been inhabited since 1520 and where the family welcomes and entertains guests as friends.

The farmhouse is strategically located near the most important art cities of Tuscany and Umbria. From the farmhouse, it is approximately a 20 minute drive to Siena and about an hour to Florence, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Perugia and Assisi.

The woods around the farmhouse make for great hiking and mountain bike trips. The renowned baths of Rapolano, with its thermal pools and spa are just 15 km away. Tennis facilities, horseback riding, go-karting, and hot air ballooning are all within a 14 km radius. The Chianti and Brunello wine regions are within 40 km and Italian fashion “factory outlets” such as Prada, Gucci and Ferragamo are within 35 km.

The complex consists of eight apartments, totaling 16 double bedrooms. Each apartment is heated and features a spacious living room, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a cook top, an oven and microwave, and a dining table. The living room also includes a convertible sofa for two, satellite TV, and a wall safe. All the bedrooms have private bathrooms with a shower. The inviting furnishings are in keeping with the Tuscan character. Al fresco dining is available for each apartment.

Guests have access to a large swimming pool that overlooks an olive grove, a vineyard and forested hills. Additional facilities include a lounge in the villa where guests can listen to music and read books, Internet access, barbecue sets, mountain bikes, games for adults and children, a communal laundry and covered parking. The very kind and helpful hosts are always available to provide information about the history of the villa and the village, as well as information about the area in general including restaurants, shopping, wineries and major tourist attractions.

Tri-level apartment with entry through an arcade. At the mezzanine level, where was a large original kitchen, there is a sofa bed for two and space for a family room. At the ground level there is the large living room with a well equipped kitchenette and dining table, a bedroom with twin beds that can be combined into a double and a bathroom with shower and bidet. The inlet to this bathroom is through a passage and it can be used also by people of the mezzanine room. From the living room, one can exit directly to a lovely outside covered area suitable for outdoor dining. At a lower level, there is a double bedroom with private bathroom having shower and bidet.
