Provence Côte d'Azur
Provence is a region situated in the sunny south-eastern corner of France. The real Provence stretches from the perfume-city of Grasse to the east all the way to the Rhône valley to the west, and from the high Alps to the north, to the Mediterranean to the south. Even though it is not geographically correct, the French Riviera is today also considered a part of Provence. The region contains the following departments: the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Vaucluse, the Var, the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence as well as the Alpes Maritimes. Furthermore, we have decided to include the departments of the Drôme and the Ardèche in the region of Provence-Côte d´Azur, as many of our holiday homes are situated near the natural border of Provence-Côte d´Azur. Orcieres-Merlette is a small village on the edge of the National Park of Ecrins, situated 40 km northeast of Gap, benefiting from a pleasant and sunny Southern Alps weather. This resort has managed to keep its mountainous character while adapting to the demands of the modern world by providing excellent sporting infrastructures: swimming pool, rink, bowling, paragliding, mountain biking, riding and tennis in the summer. In winter, the resort is served by 27 mountain lifts for 80 km of ski runs where snow is assured by 18 snow cannons. 50 km of cross country skiing. Restaurants, cinema, discos, all shops locally. Railway station SNCF at Gap then shuttle buses.
