Provence Côte d'Azur
Provence is a region situated in the sunny south-eastern corner of France. The real Provence stretches from the perfume-city of Grasse to the east all the way to the Rhône valley to the west, and from the high Alps to the north, to the Mediterranean to the south. Even though it is not geographically correct, the French Riviera is today also considered a part of Provence. The region contains the following departments: the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Vaucluse, the Var, the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence as well as the Alpes Maritimes. Furthermore, we have decided to include the departments of the Drôme and the Ardèche in the region of Provence-Côte d´Azur, as many of our holiday homes are situated near the natural border of Provence-Côte d´Azur. Villa Serena
Aristocratic 19th century villa just outside Cortona, surrounded by olive groves and chestnut woods, looking out over the massive Valdichiana and the foothills of the Apennine Alps. The area combines great natural beauty (Lake Trasimeno is a short drive away) with a wealth of historical remains and Etruscan, Roman and medieval artefacts. Cortona's ancient walls and windy streets have resisted the ravages of modern development and the town has several excellent restaurants.
This villa along with its two annexes (see our ref. i5.256 and i5.257) each with an independent entrance provides accommodation for 10 guests with private grounds and swimming pool. Each accommodation can be rented individually or all together (see our ref. i5.258). This is a traditional Tuscan home, with the rich, warm colours of terracotta and chestnut beams providing a timeless elegance. The rooms are spacious and light, and furniture and furnishings have been carefully selected to emphasize the grandeur of the building.
Every building is completely independent and has its own access door. The common utilities are the parking lot and the swimming pool. The city of Cortona is less than 1 km away and is reachable even by walking, while enjoying a marvelous panoramic walk of the valley down below and the Lake Trasimeno.
Villa Serena (250 m2):
Ground floor: Large living room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with a freezer and dishwasher, and a bathroom.
First floor: Three double bedrooms with period beds and furniture, and two bathrooms, one with tub. The large terrace is furnished with a big table, ideal for breakfasts and evening meals, and has a splendid panoramic views.
