Splitska is the charming little fishing village on the Island Brac; it has a delightful harbour, old stone houses, a promenade and several restaurants along the front overlooking the harbour - it is often referred to as the "Oasis of Peace". Indeed the promenade leads from the property into Splitska, so you can enjoy an evening stroll to and from the centre perhaps on your way to "Vala" or "Kod Tonca", good restaurants where you can eat out over-looking the water. The coast here is generally rocky but still good for swimming and there is a lovely local pebble beach. You are 10 minutes from Supetar, the port at which the ferry arrives from Split. If you want enjoy the most beautiful beach in Croatia, go to the Golden Cape in Bol on the southern side of the island; or visit Milna 20 minutes to the south west.
DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
House Punta is set in a small but well cared for garden attractively designed by its owners with trees, shrubs and flowers just 50 metres from the sea; a small path leads you down to a rocky shore where you can sunbathe and swim - an outdoor shower is in the garden.
Around the house, in the well tended garden, is a barbecue shared with the owner. You enter the house through the spacious front terrace which has sea views, plus table, chairs and parasol. You come into the air-conditioned living room which has a sofa, coffee table, TV and video player; open-plan to this is a dining area with table and chairs. Off here are two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with twin beds. From the living room you enter the attractive small kitchen with cooker, microwave and fridge; doors open onto a covered terrace, where you can eat and where there are a table and chairs overlooking the garden.
The discreet and friendly owner lives in the separate house on one side of the garden and allows clients to use his utility room which houses a washing machine.
Getting there: Saturday arrival at Split. Transit by road/ferry 2 hours.
Bookings with children under 8 years old will not be accepted because the front terrace has a significant drop that make it unsuitable for them.
