Provence Côte d'Azur
Provence is a region situated in the sunny south-eastern corner of France. The real Provence stretches from the perfume-city of Grasse to the east all the way to the Rhône valley to the west, and from the high Alps to the north, to the Mediterranean to the south. Even though it is not geographically correct, the French Riviera is today also considered a part of Provence. The region contains the following departments: the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Vaucluse, the Var, the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence as well as the Alpes Maritimes. Furthermore, we have decided to include the departments of the Drôme and the Ardèche in the region of Provence-Côte d´Azur, as many of our holiday homes are situated near the natural border of Provence-Côte d´Azur. Beautifully restored 12th century townhouse in the charming town of Arles. Ideally situated for those who wish to see Provence. Arles offers many specialty shops, restaurants, cafes, and museums and is particularly renowned for its history and art. Vincent Van Gogh lived here for many years.
As you enter the house through an ancient wood door, you step into the living/dining room. Decorated with some modern furnishings accented by carefully chosen antiques, the original stone walls and overhead beams give it old world charm. The sitting area of sofa and easy chairs, and dining table with 4 chairs, all enjoy a wonderful view of the Roman amphitheatre Les Arenes. There is a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is also on the main floor and is equipped with stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave. Down a few stairs is a laundry room with washer and dryer and a half bath.
Upstairs you'll be delighted to find 2 queen bedrooms with ensuite full bathrooms with antique claw-foot tubs with showers. The fireplace, antique tables and chairs, four poster beds with exquisite linen, and beautiful views to the street give these bedrooms a special ambiance. The house has recently been equipped with 3 air conditioning units.
