Villa with pool in the village Monterchi

This elegant 17th century villa is built on the remains of the ancient castle of Monterchi. It is a perfect Tuscan holiday destination, situated in the centre of the small town of Monterchi but totally private due to the thick walls of the old castle. You can still see the remains of the walls that run round the gardens of the villa. You will enjoy an attractive, quiet village, where you can also find excellent restaurants, You are close to several cultural centers where famous artists have left their best works. Monterchi is close to Arezzo and holds the most famous fresco of Piero della Francesca called "La Madonna del Parto". Close to the village you will also find tennis courts, a golf course and horse-riding stables.

The terrace garden on the ancient medieval walls, which goes back to the second half of the 16th century is Italianate in style and is linked on two levels with hedge rows, heritage roses, flowers in season, as well as fruit trees. Outdoor dining area and private swimming-pool with jazuzzi corner. Guests can enjoy wonderful sunsets from the water and listen to the church bells when they ring.

Guests enter the villa through the main entrance from the shady piazza of Monterchi.
Ground Floor: Entrance with double glass doors to a large living-room with comfortable furniture and from the windows you have a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. One twin bedroom (the beds can be put together) with bathroom with shower. One double bedroom with wardrobe and bathroom with shower.

First Floor: Going up the red carpeted staircase you enter a large living room with fireplace and dining room. A small living room with piano and satellite-TV. One bedroom with a "French" bed, with bathroom with shower. One twin bedroom with bathroom with shower. One bedroom with double beds and bathroom with tub. There is a very large traditional kitchen well equipped and recently redone with all that is need for preparing Italian food including a dishwasher. There are also laundry facilities.

Please note that the villa does not have a telephone. This villa is not suitable for children over 1 and under 8. Due to the high altitude and thick walls air conditioning is never necessary. It is possible to arrange for someone to cook for you in the evenings when you make the booking.
