Provence is a region situated in the sunny south-eastern corner of France. The real Provence stretches from the perfume-city of Grasse to the east all the way to the Rhône valley to the west, and from the high Alps to the north, to the Mediterranean to the south. Even though it is not geographically correct, the French Riviera is today also considered a part of Provence. The region contains the following departments: Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, Var, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence as well as the Alpes-Maritimes. Furthermore, we have decided to include the departments of Drôme and Ardèche in the region of Provence-Côte d’Azur, as many of our holiday homes are situated near the natural border of Provence-Côte d´Azur. From Casale della Pietra the guests have a panoramic view on the land of Val di Chiana, framed by the mountains of Siena (as Amiata and Cetona) and the big blue mirror of Trasimeno lake. A beautiful Tuscan landscape representing the fusion between nature and man’s work, fusion which makes old and new become one. Walking on the road which connects Casale della Pietra to Cortona, you will find lands worked at terrace with olive trees, delimitated by walls made of stones.
When restructuring this property the Tuscan origins with the local stone has been maintained. The apartment is found on the ground floor of a farmhouse, made up of a well equipped kitchen, dining table, lounge room, bathroom with shower and toilet, 1 twin bedroom and 1 double bedroom. Outside there is large garden with terrace area reserved for the guests, a large swimming pool, big umbrellas and sun beds. The owners live discretely in the upper part of the house. A small road passes by the house, but the traffic is very limited.
