Provence is a region situated in the sunny south-eastern corner of France. The real Provence stretches from the perfume-city of Grasse to the east all the way to the Rhône valley to the west, and from the high Alps to the north, to the Mediterranean to the south. Even though it is not geographically correct, the French Riviera is today also considered a part of Provence. The region contains the following departments: Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, Var, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence as well as the Alpes-Maritimes. Furthermore, we have decided to include the departments of Drôme and Ardèche in the region of Provence-Côte d’Azur, as many of our holiday homes are situated near the natural border of Provence-Côte d´Azur. Holiday home situated only 500 meters from the center of the old city of Cortona. With a location among olive groves in the green hills of Tuscany, "Casale" is the perfect place for those who wish to enjoy a quit and relaxing holiday in the heart of Tuscany.
The holiday home consists of an old stone house from the 1700s and 2 independent apartments in an adjacent house. The recent restoration, completed in 2007, has left the house with great attention to details and all rooms are furnished with antique furniture. The main house has a large private garden and the apartments have private gardens too. In the garden you will also find a shared pool of 8 x 4 m reserved for the guests.
The villa has no air conditioning, but the thick stone walls keeps the heat out and even in the hot summer months temperatures will therefore be comfortable indoors.
The main house consists of two levels:
Ground floor: Entrance, living/dining room with fireplace. Well equipped kitchen with access directly to the garden. Separate toilet.
Upper floor: Bedroom with double bed and bathroom with shower and toilet. Office room, 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 bedroom with two single beds and 1 bathroom with shower and toilet.
The apartment situated on the ground floor: Large living/dining room, small kitchen, bedrooms with double beds, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet and 1 bathroom with tub and toilet.
The owner offers welcome basket at arrival: fruit, bruschetta, organic extra oliveoil (own production), a bottle of wine, tea, coffee and sugar.
It is possible to have arranged a typical Tuscan dinner on location: 40 EUR/person. It is also possible to arrange cooking lessons on location.
