Collobrières is the main town in the region of Massif des Maures, the most southern mountain massif in France. It is an unbelievably verdant area with chestnut, cork-oak, oak and pine trees and myrrh and thorny undergrowth. Collobrières lies in beautiful natural scenery in the midst of the forest and is, for this reason, an ideal holiday resort and a good starting point for trips in the area.

Collobrières is a quiet little town, but very interesting and definitely worth a visit.
The town is intersected by the
Real Colloubrier river which has given name to the town. In Provencal it means a river full of grass snakes.
In the northern part of the town a 12th century stone bridge, Pont Raoul Calvi, crosses the river.
At the other side one can find
Chapelle Notre Dame de Pitié and a small boutique,
Confisserie Azurienne, renowned for its candied chestnuts. There are also several wooden bridges which lead to the cafés at the other side of the river.
